Mapion Case Study

Mapion-case-study Since its establishment in 1996, Mapion’s internet-based map information service has experienced rapid business growth. As Mapion continued to evolve its services to include local advertising and media services, provide more customized map data for its corporate users, and extend its supply of map data to the public, it needed to expand its storage infrastructure and prepare sufficient storage capacity.

Mapion selected KVH managed storage services which met its data storage requirements, while also enabling it to reduce rack space, consumption of electricity, and monthly operational costs.

KVH offered a storage solution based on the hosting environment within KVH Tokyo Data Center 1 (TDC1) which enabled Mapion to efficiently renew its infrastructure without having to make major changes to its existing network environment.
