KVH Premium Colocation Services provide housing for critical business assets in a secure and fully-managed environment that can grow incrementally as business expands. Each of KVH’s data center facilities offers colocation services in units of full racks or caged areas, and includes the following features:
- Security – There are 6 layers of authentication from outside into the server room using man-traps, non-contact security cards, PIN codes and finger print authentication devices. Surveillance cameras are installed throughout the data center to detect unauthorized personnel and improper activities, with security guards on duty 24x7x365
- Optimization of rack environment – To increase air-conditioning efficiency in the server room, racks are set up in a “hot-aisle / cold-aisle” configuration with aisles ranging from 900mm to 1200mm in width
- Redundant connectivity – All KVH data centers operate as carrier-neutral facilities, offering customers a variety of connectivity options with multiple entry points into the main distribution frames (MDF)
- Staging rooms – All purpose staging rooms are available on a reservation basis and may be used to unpack and set-up equipment, etc.
