May 16, 2011: KVH Opens e-Business Portal for its Cloud Offerings - Providing speed and convenience, online service significantly improves efficiency and convenience in configuring and managing infrastructure

Press Release: May 16, 2011

KVH Co., Ltd. announced today the launch of KVH Cloud Galaxy, a new e-business portal that allows customers to purchase, configure, and manage KVH IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) cloud environments in real time. KVH Cloud Galaxy gives KVH customers the ability to directly configure and manage complex cloud environments and thereby significantly improve the flexibility, efficiency and total cost of ownership of their IT resources. “Our Information Delivery Platform allows our clients to store, process, protect and deliver their vital information and the release of Cloud Galaxy is an important addition to this Platform.” commented Richard Warley CEO of KVH. “Cloud Galaxy removes the operating and capital expense of owning data center, compute, network, and storage infrastructure and gives our clients the ability to provision, on demand, the exact resources that they require allowing them to respond quickly and cost effectively to their changing business needs.”

KVH Cloud Galaxy includes infrastructure service “building blocks” of dedicated and virtual servers, storage, network, firewall, and load balancers that enable enterprise customers to provision, in real time, sophisticated, multi-layer configurations tuned to their specific IT requirements. Cloud Galaxy is delivered through KVH’s own networks and data center facilities. Customers can build and configure their environments through Cloud Galaxy by using pre-defined templates or by selecting individual components flexibly customized to their systems, regardless of complexity or size. KVH Cloud Galaxy’s intuitive interface helps reduce the time associated with configuring and managing cloud infrastructure, improving overall operational efficiency. Customers purchasing services online have access to KVH’s bilingual Japanese and English service desk, and if they require consultation services, specially trained engineers are available to provide personalized guidance and support.

“A core value of KVH is an absolute commitment to serving our customers’ needs,” said Joe Duhamel, Executive Vice President, Systems & Technology, KVH. “The introduction of Cloud Galaxy is aimed at providing speed and convenience to our customers and giving them direct control to scale their IT infrastructure as and when they need it.”
