Highlights from ITW in Chicago

Itw-conference
In May, representatives from KVH’s International and Carrier Sales teams attended the 5th annual ITW (International Telecoms Week) event in Chicago along with almost 5,400 telecoms executives.

The three-day event, attended by 1,730 companies from 136 countries, was considered very successful and was the first time the event had been held outside of Washington DC.

KVH’s Paul Stanley, Head of Carrier Sales, Subash Adhikari, Carrier Sales Account Executive, and Steven Goordarzi, Director of Strategic development and Partnerships, held over 50 meetings with KVH’s current and prospective customers, business partners, and vendors from buy side and sell side organizations.

Key topics at the event included:

  • Japan: Alongside the growth of developing countries like Hong Kong and Singapore, Japan has maintained its position and reputation in the market as a key player and influencer on the global economy and carrier market.
  • Partner Relations: As carriers continue to look for ways to streamline their business and work within increasingly tighter budgets, conversations are now shifting from how to establish traditional supplier relationships, to how to develop valuable business partnerships.
  • Regional Networks: Many businesses are planning to leverage regional networks as part of their strategy for international expansion. Most have no plans to build their own networks.
  • Acquisitions: There are many acquisitions occurring across the US, in particular, and this will most likely spread across the market.
