December 2011 KVH e-Newsletter
As 2011 comes to a close, we would like to thank you for your ongoing patronage throughout a year of recurring challenges for Japan.
It has been a difficult time for Japan both emotionally and economically in the aftermath of March’s Great Tohoku Earthquake and Tsunami. Along with the hardships, we have also witnessed the collaborative strength, resourcefulness and resolve of the Japanese people, a people familiar with rebuilding their lives and their country in the face of major obstacles.
For KVH, as well as implementing an extensive business continuity plan following the earthquake, 2011 has been a year of tremendous change overall. The year began with a far-reaching reorganization of the company to align ourselves to ITIL v3 and to put you, our clients, at the center of everything we do. In February, we completed our new data center in Inzai City in Chiba prefecture. We have continued to evolve our cloud services portfolio, and we have opened offices in Hong Kong, Singapore, and Chicago to supplement our expanded network reach in these markets. We have also laid the groundwork for expanding our low-latency network into Korea and Australia – projects that will be completed in early 2012.
With system and network upgrades underway and an organization committed to delivering superior levels of service, we are stronger, more flexible, and better equipped than ever to serve your IT and networking needs.
At this joyous time of year, we would like to express our gratitude in continuing to work with KVH, and we look forward to contributing to your success in 2012.
We wish you a relaxing holiday season and a happy new year!
