Soon after its founding in 1999, KVH began by digging up the streets in metropolitan Japan to lay fiber optics for what is today the most resilient fiber network in Japan linking major data centers and buildings. The performance and reliability is further enhanced through a flat network architecture using the best technologies. The result is a network that delivers the highest performance at a competitive cost for our customers. KVH’s network is recognized as the lowest latency network in Japan, providing connections between major Japanese exchanges, trading venues in other markets, and global trading participants in the Asia Pacific region.
KVH networks are continually upgraded with the latest technology advancements to maintain the world-class performance of our data services. We have deployed several network platforms to meet different needs with multiple bandwidth choices from a few Mbps to 10Gbps today, and 100Gbps in the near future.
Whether it is Synchronous Optical Network (SONET), or ultra-high speed Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM), or the ultra-fast ‘native’ MPLS-based Ethernet over fiber, all of these networks are engineered to have self-healing capabilities within milliseconds in case of disruption.
